Date Night Makeup

Trying to decide what to do for your date night makeup? Do you want something more neutral and smokey? Our estheticians at Studio 237 are here to give you the rundown of how to achieve the perfect date night makeup!

Let’s start with the skin care. Make sure to start off with a clean, freshly washed face and apply moisturiser and move on to the eyes to allow the moisturiser time to absorb into the skin.

Time for the eyes! Apply an eyeshadow primer or concealer and set in place with an eyeshadow close to your skin tone. With a fluffy brush, blend a light brown eyeshadow in the crease. Don’t bring the shadow too close to the inner eye area, we don’t want the eye to appear small. With a more dense fluffy brush, apply a dark brown eyeshadow in the outer v area of the eye. Taking the fluffy brush we used before, blend the outer corner. With a flat eyeshadow brush, apply a cream coloured eyeshadow to the inner half of the lid. If you like some sparkle, add a shimmery champagne colour on the lid instead of the cream colour. Apply your choice of black eyeliner or for a softer look, apply black eyeshadow close to the lashline. Apply mascara and false lashes if your feeling extra!

Let’s move onto the face before finishing the rest of the eyes. Apply a face primer and your favourite foundation and concealer. If using a liquid or cream foundation and concealer, set in place with a light amount of powder on a big fluffy face brush. Lightly bronze the perimeter of your face. Key areas are the temples, just below the cheekbones, the jawline and down the neck. Add a light amount of blush t0 the apples of the cheeks, sweeping back towards the hairline. Apply champagne highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones, above your eyebrows, tip of the nose and on your cupids bow. Set in place with a setting spray.

Jump back to the eyes. With a pencil brush, apply the dark brown eyeshadow to the outer corner of the bottom lashline. Blend out with the light brown colour we used in the crease on a small fluffy brush. For a more sultry effect, add a brown eyeliner in the water line. To finish the eyes, apply a light coat of mascara to your bottom lashes.

Adding the finishing touch! Since the colours we used are neutral, you can use whatever lip colour you like. You can go nude, maybe pink or even a sultry dark berry colour! Just have fun!

Remember you look beautiful with or without makeup. It is all about expression and having fun!
